Kakip display and camera Bringup

Projects

Working on multimedia in Linux involves cross project disciplines to all of the components used. Ideas on Board works extensively with the relevant communities to make sure we work openly and upstream.

We specialise in our developments on upstream work and contributions with the following open source projects:

Linux Kernel

We’ve helped develop thousands of patches in the Linux kernel. This work has been created by Ideas on Board and directly accepted into the Kernel.

Ideas on Board maintains components in the kernel and accepts code from other authors.

All code merged through us has our Signed-off-by added. We also help validate other developments where we have the corresponding devices to do so.

libcamera

We built the libcamera project from the ground up to solve the problems with growing complexity of managing camera based hardware throughout, Linux, particularly with MIPI-CSI2 connectivity and RAW Bayer sensors.

Our software stack runs on Intel, Rockchip, RaspberryPi, NXP, Amlogic, Renesas and Qualcomm platforms already and we’re always working to add more support.

A SoftISP implementation provides support for all other platforms or custom image processing tasks.

We support many sensors already, including a large range of from vendors including Sony, Omnivision, OnSemi, ams-OSRAM.

Our goal is to make every camera work on every platform.
